Graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Military Medical University of Łódź. Head of the Neurosurgery Department of the 10th Military Research Hospital in Bydgoszcz from 1994 to 2019. In the years 2004-2022, an employee of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Currently, Consultant at the Neurosurgery Department of the 10th Military Research Hospital in Bydgoszcz and at the Department of Neurooncology and Radiosurgery of the Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz. Since 2023, an employee of the Faculty of Medicine at the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology and a member of the Scientific Council at the National Centre for Research and Development. Doctor Honoris Causa of the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz Creator of pioneering procedures in the field of functional neurosurgery in Poland: 2002 – first psychosurgical operations of bilateral cingulotomy 2004 – first bilateral deep cerebellar stimulation in the treatment of spasticity in cerebral palsy 2008 – first procedures to implant vagus nerve stimulators in the treatment of drug- resistant depression 2011 – first bilateral deep brain stimulation procedure in drug-resistant obsessive- compulsive disorder 2012 – first operation to treat morbid obesity with bilateral stimulation of the nucleus accumbens 2013 – the world's first bilateral stimulation of the posterior hypothalamus and nucleus accumbens in the treatment of aggressive and self-destructive behaviour Author of 203 publications with an IF of approx. 120 and a Hirsch index of 10.

Graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Military Medical University of Łódź of 1991 Since 1995, associated with the 10th Military Research Hospital with Polyclinic in Bydgoszcz, currently serving as the Head of the Neurosurgery Department Since 2023, also an employee of the Faculty of Medicine at the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology and a member of the Council of Medical Science at the same university Since 2021, Chairman of the Stereotaxy and Functional Neurosurgery Section of the Polish Society of Neurosurgeons Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of central nervous system tumours, especially glial tumours Internationally certified to conduct training courses in the treatment of malignant brain gliomas using 5-aminolevulinic acid Author and co-author of more than 100 publications with a total KBN/MEiN score of 3430, an IF of 120 and a Hirsch index of 12 (according to Scopus)

During the online workshop, Prof. Marek Harat, MD, and Jacek Furtak, MD, PhD

will perform and discuss two neurosurgical operations using Codubix prosthesis for cranioplasty adopted to the patient based on CT scans, as well as presenting theoretical issues related to cranioplasty, the basics of anatomy and the necessary knowledge of surgical methods and synthetic materials used during the operation.
